A One-Picture-Day

Today was a one picture day. Not that we were really that busy.

Earlier today I found Jack drawing all over our nightstand with a blue pen saying, "oooooo!" Then a friend watched him for a couple of hours and I used the time to pick up some wipes at Sam's, since we're going through them like wildfire.

After afternoon naps, I spent most of my time running between feeding Hazel and cleaning up from (or supervising) Jack's culinary efforts. Today he tried to make pudding, popcorn, and oatmeal. Needless to say, I was sweeping a lot of powder, oats, and popcorn from the floor...and I had to stop him from putting the popcorn in the microwave with the plastic on.

Jack's still really good with Hazel...today he spent about 20 minutes showing Hazel his firetrucks, "Baby Hazel. Firetruck. Red Firetruck! Look at it!" I wonder if he'll be disappointed if she grows up and isn't as completely fascinated with them as he is.

And here is the picture: Hazel waiting patiently for one of her many diaper changes. I think she's going through about 10 a day. She is looking so big now, more like a baby and less like a newborn!

What happens when...

...you go from one kid wearing diapers to two kids wearing diapers??

You get a huge box, bigger than you, full of diapers from Amazon! It's better than getting a toy with your happy meal.

Yesterday We played with colored ice cubes outside. We had to do it in the morning, or they would have melted in about five seconds.
He's wearing his favorite green monster shirt. He is in love with it.  We have to wash it every other day so that he can wear it as much as possible.
Picking up ice cubes.
Hazel came out to watch. We put her in the shade and she squinted at the bright sky and trees.

Today Hazel was making so many cute faces while wiggling on her blanket.

Is that a smile? I don't know, but she is a cutie!

3 weeks

Hazel's eyes were matching her outfit today, so I told Chris I'd get a picture. We love our beautiful girl!

Then Jack wanted to hold her. He's an awesome big brother and a big help around the house!

First Bath

Today Hazel got her first bath! She was really good, and her hair looks so cute and fuzzy now that it's clean. I got a video (by setting the camera on the toilet), but it's too big to post.  Here is a screen shot from the video, sorry about the poor quality. Unfortunately the battery died and I didn't get a picture of her afterward.

This is what Jack was doing while I gave Hazel the bath. Needless to say, that blanket is going in the wash!

Marshmallow Shooters

Today we made marshmallow shooters! Jack shot a few marshmallows, and then decided it was much more fun to put the marshmallows in his shooter and then take them out again and eat them.

Here he is "shooting" one into the cup.

Here is sweet Hazel. She is more and more alert! Yesterday we took her to the doctor's for her two week appointment and she weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz., was 22 in long, and had a head circumference of 34 cm.  She is certainly growing.
You can see some of the chub on her cheeks in this picture.

Little Angels

So, I'm sorry if you're getting sick of pictures of our kids, but for all the grandparents out there, and for Chris, here are some more!

Here is how Hazel slept for her very long nap this afternoon. I love watching her sleep! I hope she knows how much she is loved and that we think she is just perfect!

Here is Jack exploring the sewing machine.  He's actually pushing the stapler (empty stapler) around the desk area. He says it is "like a forklift."  To him, everything is some kind of truck.

2 weeks old

Here are Hazel's two week pictures.  She is such a cutie :).  I love to watch her cheeks get chubby, and her legs are definitely filling out compared to a week ago.

Jack waited patiently (I promised him we'd play a game after) while I took pictures. He is a great big brother and he loves to sing songs to Hazel.

This is how Jack loves to sit on Lightning McQueen. I love that he can fit his little feet up there!
